August Favorites and discoveries

Hi everyone !

Today is a special day and : is the day I can talk about my favorite products and discoveries of the month !

During August, I haven’t used or bought many skin care products, it was essentially make up, but I am really happy to share it with you now 🙂

  • Skin Care products

Once a week I love to take a full care of myself. I really appreciate this moment because I really take a lots of time just for my body.

Once a week I do a body scrub. I have tried many and a few weeks ago I started to use the Birch body scrub from Weleda. This body scrub is really gentle so it’s perfect for people with sensitive skin. The smell is like citrus, so it’s not strong. It feels refreshed after the exfoliation.

Late in In July, I had an appointment with my dermatologist. She told me to use a sunblock for my face whenever I go out, because I have a fair skin and some rosacea and I have a special treatment for that, so I must be really careful when I go out. She told me to buy this sunblock from Noreva : it’s a 50+ protection. I really like it because I don’t get any blemishes when I use it, it’s a bit thick though but it’s not hard to remove.

  • Make up

I wanted to buy a new foundation for a long time, I have been using BB creams for over a year and I started to feel the need to change. I have been asking many samples from many brands, and after trying the Double Wear foundation from Estée Lauder, I deeply fell in love with it ! I keep using it since 3 weeks now and that product is just amazing. It covers most of the blemishes and the result looks so natural. I thought it would dry my skin but no, I feel comfortable, like I don’t wear anything. It also has a SPF10, so combined with my sunblock I can protect my skin quite well from the sun.

Let me tell you something : I’ve always been this kind of “simple” girl who thought I would never use any powder/blush/bronzer/etc…  on my face because I wanted to look natural. Well, that was before!

I bought this amazing powder from MAC and I use it after my foundation (every single day !). Just wow ! It can definitely make your skin looks unified and bright.  (I use the medium plus) The powder is light, and after I apply it, I don’t feel cakey on my face. I love it !

I don’t have lots of dark circles under my eyes, but I have a very thin skin, and we can see clearly my veins. So I wanted to hide them a little bit and I have found that many youtubers and bloggers use that product. I really like it, it does its job very well, and helps to unify the skin as well.

This is my new concealer palette from Peggy Sage. It has 5 shades to hide the imperfections. I think it works very well on me and it hides some of my blemishes I have due to rosacea.

One other thing I thought I would never have to use in my entire life, a bronzing powder ! One reason was because I was scared to have spots or blemishes… Well, I could find that one in a retail store and I was really glad to get it ! It’s bright but not shimmer. I love the smell, it smells like a soap and the texture is also very light. It doesn’t look orange on my skin, but it gives a nice healthy glow to my cheeks. I like it !

This blush was the subject of one of my previous article, so if you haven’t red it yet, I invite you to get a look because I talk about it in a better detail. I love that blush ! It’s the very first cream blush I have ever tried and it changed so much my make up routine that I love even more wearing make up !

After I have tried the cream blush from Revlon, I was so interested in these kind of blushes so I decided to try the High Definition blush from Make Up For Ever. This is the colour 225 “Peachy Pink”, it’s more creamy than the Revlon’s one but it’s also an amazing blush, very easy to apply (with a brush). I also love it very much and I use it also often. There are many other shades and I think I will buy the coral one next time.

Here you can see the differences between both blushes : the revlon blush is the upper line, it’s really a coral tone, and the Make Up For Ever is the one below. which is more soft and clear. Both are really easy to blend.

This is a contour eye pencil from Sephora. It’s a waterproof long stay liner. The liner is easy to apply, I have a khaki colour, the n° 17 : Snakeskin Dress. I used it several times and I love it !

This is probably not a favorite but mostly a discovery : it’s a long lasting stick from Kiko. It is used as an eyeshadow.

I am not really good at applying it. I love the taupe colour though. I think I need to try applying it again.

This is the Revlon Colourbust lacquer balm. This is the colour n°105, a sheer pink. I like it because it moisturises the lips and adds a bit of shimmer. It also smells to mint, which is quite interesting and not bad at all. I think I want to try other colours !

On that picture you can see the Sephora liner, the Kiko liner and the Revlon lacquer balm.

A surprise ? I guess it’s not and I bet you already knew I would talk about my new palette from Coastal Scents. I won’t get tired of saying again how much I love these eye shadows !

I did a review about it, you can read it here if you want !

  • Accessories

And finally, I wanted to talk about my Real Techniques’ brushes. I really love them and I already bought online a stippling brush and a retractable lip brush still from real Techniques. They just make my make up routine a very pleasant moment.

I also did an article about these brushes, you can read it here.

One day one look

Hi everyone,

I wanted to show you my make up for today.

I will make special articles about each product I used but later if you don’t mind, because I think they really deserve to have their own reviews.

Taking all of these pictures was quite funny, I really took lots of time to do both make up and self-shooting 😉 But it was fun and a nice new great challenge for that blog.

So here is how I did my make up today.

I started with an eye primer, from Kiko, and the Eraser Dark Circles from Maybelline.

I applied then my foundation. I use now the Double Wear (sand) from Estée Lauder, and my Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder from MAC (medium plus). I apply them generously all over my face, even my lips and nose (that’s why my lips look so white on some pictures ! ).

I also used my concealer palette from Peggy Sage, to hide some blemishes I have on my face.

After that I applied a bronzing powder on my eye bones and cheeks, the Dream Terra Sun from Maybelline (01S Leopard) and then my cream blush from Revlon.

After my face, I did my eyebrows with my shaping kit from Make Up Revolution, and then my eye shadows, still from Coastal Scents (of course). This time I used 4 shades from my new palette : Fleshtone, Deep Merlot, Chocolate Berry and Watermelon. I used my mascara from Lord & Berry and the final touch : my mini lipstick Rouge Eclat from Clarins (woodrose).

We can not really see the red colour on my eyes, I blend it with the brown colour so we can not notice it very well …

What do you think about it ?

I hope you like it !

July Favorites and discoveries

Hi everyone !

Today I am going to talk about you my favorite products and discoveries of July.

This month I have been using quite a lot of products, and I just wanted to pick up my favorite and my newest ones for that article.

  • Skin care products

I use since about 2 weeks the Ultra-Moisturizing Body Milk from Topicrem, I like to try new body milks, and I use them twice a day.

Since I’ve been using a lot Korres, and Nuxe, I wanted to try another drug store brand. The texture of that one is a bit thick (it’s for sensitive and dry skin) so it takes some time to dry : with Korres and Nuxe, I could apply a normal amount of body milk, the skin absorbed it very fast ! But with that one, just a little bit is enough, so I use it only once a day (at night). The smell is nice : it smells a bit of baby powder. I will probably buy it again in winter, because it’s a time when I prefer to use thicker creams.

I had some blemishes these past months, I wanted to find a solution to reduce the redness of my cheeks, also, I love to use everyday an anti-ageing cream for my eyes, so I bought (still in a drug store) several creams for my special needs :

The first cream is from Algotherm, it’s an anti blemish and intensive corrector that reduces redness. It’s an anti-bacterial transparent fluid (it has salicylic acid) with seaweed extracts to balance sebaceous secretions. I used it for several weeks and I still have lots of product inside. It worked on me but it took time to be effective. The smell may be a bit strange the first time we use it : it smells of tree, but we soon get rid of if. It’s fresh and doesn’t dry the skin. I would recommend it for people who don’t have a sever skin problem (I believe in such a case it’s much better to ask to a dermatologist).

The second cream is an eye and lip anti ageing cream. It’s about a month I am using it, morning and night too. It’s a repairing cream that helps to reduce wrinkles and dark circles. This cream is made of natural placenta (from the nutrients contained in plants). I use a small amount each time : the size of a rice seed for both eyes. I really like that product, it works very well on me. I will definitely buy it again.

Then, I use La Roche Posay corrective unclogging care Effaclar duo + & the physiological soothing toner. It was one of my first article on that blog, I just started to use both a few weeks ago.

Well, the cream is really nice and works perfectly on the blemishes, I use it only when I have some and it definitely works well ! The toner is amazing, I am now using my second bottle and I think to buy some other bottles in advance, I like to use it everyday, it’s very refreshing and leaves the skin very soft.

All of these products are paraben free, and they are suitable for very sensitive skins.

  • Make up

Most of the things here I already talked about them.

First thing I use every time I wear make up is my eye primer from Kiko. I already talked about it but I really think it’s a great product : the make up stays all day long !

Then, I started to use a few days ago the eyebrow palette from Make Up Revolution. I wasn’t so convinced about it when I first used it, but now I love it ! How could I wear make up all this time without this ?!

Next, I won’t review it anymore (because lately I keep talking and talking about this brand) : my Coastal Scents palette. I use it every day now and I am just loving it ! It just proves that we don’t need to buy expensive make up when we can have amazing one like this ! (I also bought yesterday another palette from them, I am so impatient to receive it !)

More over, I use (not every day, but every time I change my nail lacquer) a cuticle oil from Maybeline. It’s something great, I have never thought of using one before, and I really recommend to anyone to use a product like that because it worth to try !

  • Hair care

Finally the last product : a few months ago as I bought a few stuffs on Feelunique, I received a free sample from the brand Aveda. I’ve never heard of it before that but I decided to give it a try and see how it works on me. I have long hair so I thought this tiny sample wouldn’t be enough for my hair length… Well, I was deeply WRONG ! I used it (seriously) about 6 or 7 times already, and I LOVE IT !!  (I still have a little bit left but I don’t want to finish it soon…). The results were just incredible, my hair was really soft, the curls were very well defined and I didn’t need to do anything else because just this product was enough to set my hair. I will get this product soon !!

My “score” on each product (you can also click on each product to find it online) :

Nail lacquers collection

Hi everyone !

Today I want to give you a brief look at my nail lacquers collection.

I think summer makes me want to wear nail lacquers almost every day!

I love to try many different colours (of course not all together 😉 ) And I hope to try more !

Right now I use a few brands :

  • O.P.I.  (I have the “Take Ten” mini set, so that’s why you can see many of them)
  • Essie
  • Kiko
  • SinfulColors
  • L’Oréal
  • Bourjois
  • Maybeline

I haven’t done any great picture for a review yet, but it will come soon !

I already added just a few pictures on my instagram page but for a review I need my reflex camera… the quality of the pictures is still much better than a smartphone !

What kind of colour do you prefer the most ?

Have a great Sunday 🙂

Kiko review

Lately, Kiko has become the brand I buy the most, I really love it,  it’s cheap and the quality is amazing.

I started to use Kiko since last year, and now each day I have in my cosmetic routine “at least” one product I use from them, such as the eye primer. I wonder how did I survive before without it ? This one is so amazing ! I just can’t imagine not using this any more… It dries fast but the eye shadows stay all day and it really enhances the colours. I love it !

Few months ago I went to a Kiko store and I bought the palette n°100 : Color Fever, Rosy Taupe, it’s a limited collection with 4 eye shadows (a white, grey, taupe and a dark brown, the colours have a pink tone). A friend of mine had it and I wanted to have it so badly, luckily I could find it again.

DSCF7047

I also use other eye shadows from Kiko, the n°132 “Pearly Bronze” and the n°139 “Pearly Salmon” . I wanted to have them because sometimes I need to have a soft look.

from left to right : “pearly salmon” & “pearly bronze”

And finally, I got the Water eye shadow n°208 “light gold”.

As you can see, each of these eye shadows are shimmery and they are really pigmented, I think the quality is really good. Besides that, they are long lasting and easy to blend.

I also Wanted to try their lipstick and lip glosses, I got a Crystal Sheer Glossy lipstick (the n° 412 “Apple flower pink”) and a Breezy Shine lip gloss (the n°2 “Strawberry Pink”).

They don’t dry the lips and they have great colours, I think I will by some more to check other colours.

About the accessories,  I have 2 brushes, one blending eye brush (the n°213) and an eye liner brush (the n°204), they are great and I use them everyday, after that I use  a brush cleanser, it’s a no-rinse cleanser so I can clean my brushes very quickly.

Then I wanted to try the nail polish corrector pen, which is good but I think I will probably try another one, I am not so fond of it.

And finally ! My only Kiko nail polish is a coral colour (I am not sure exactly which one is) but I like it, such a great colour for summer !

As you can see, I really like Kiko !

What about you ? Do you have any Kiko product ? What’s your favourite one ?
